Vacuum Cleaner Types
Being an adult means more responsibilities, not only we have to pay our own rent and many other bills, we also have to be responsible for our living space and making our own meals or overall taking care of ourselves. This is not an instant process that we will get used to in a day or two but apparently everything will seem like a daily routine than chores over time and this is what we have been feeling for a little while now.
We love a clean house but apparently it is not going to clean itself and every day or every other day we have to take the vacuum cleaner out and move around the house to clean all of the floorings then mopping it as well if needed. We are very thankful for vacuum cleaners because they make the cleaning more effective. But, when it comes to choosing this house cleaning appliance, things can get quite confusing due to the vast options.
Upright Vacuum Cleaners
This is probably what many people think when looking for a new vacuum for the house especially if you are often dealing with lots of mess and just want to get things done quickly. They are known to have a very strong motor that can produce a very reliable suction power as well and this is why many pet parents are opting for them. Moreover, with lots of thick carpets in the house, an upright with a large bag will go well in this type of usage.
They typically have brush rolls to aid the carpet cleaning but if your house tends to have some hard floorings as well, it is better to find a model where the rolling brush function can be turned off just to keep any scratch away from the surface, especially if you have wooden floors.
Canister Vacuum Cleaner
This is also a typical option when people look for a new vacuum and this can be an alternative for pet parents as well. What makes it better for hard floor prominent houses is the fact that there is no moving or motorized brush on its cleaning head and some models with powerful suction can even handle carpet really well too while being quieter in general than an upright model. But, since they have a main vacuum and then the cleaning hose and handle, it is tricky to keep compact.

Stick Vacuum
This is among the more modern options for a vacuum cleaner and as the name suggests, they are looking like a stick. They are actually a slimmer version of your upright model so we can fit them in the back of the refrigerator or in narrow spaces for storing. What makes them very convenient is the fact that there is no need to deal with cables here since they use batteries and they have no bag so cleaning the canister is much easier but, in terms of suction power they are not the best especially for deep cleaning.
About Hoover Onepwr and Shark Rocket
If you are here then it means you have decided which vacuum cleaner to go for and it is a stick vacuum. Personally we are not using them for deep cleaning and in most cases just for touch up or spot cleaning and any lighter application but, there are also many good, reliable options out there that can handle various applications both on the carpet and on the hard floor while budget wise they can be as affordable too just like the upright or canister vacuums.
One of the reasons why it is very difficult to find a good vacuum cleaner is because there are so many options out there and you can find tons of brands as well as models that seem to be identical to each other a lot when shopping. Our tips are to stick with popular names because they tend to be more reliable and it is faster to eliminate the vast amount of options without scarifying quality. Talking about vacuum cleaners, two of our favorite choices are Hoover and Shark which are equally popular.
They are prominent brands in the market and it is for good reasons as their products are very reliable and long lasting but, not all of their models may fit in your application. For those who want to get a convenient vacuum but also versatile for various cleaning tasks, Hoover Onepwr and Shark Rocket are two amazing options to consider. Note that there are many models in these lines but what we talk about here is their Blade+ and Rocket HV302.
These vacuum cleaners are more of a combination between an upright vacuum and a stick vacuum since they are quite powerful but in terms of price point, Shark often become the cheaper alternative to many other popular brands including Hoover. Overall, Hoover Onepwr and Shark Rocket are ideal options if you want to look for an easy to use vacuum but can deal with various cleaning tasks while also being reliable as well. Hoover Onepwr and Shark Rocket Design
Just like any stick vacuum out there, these two are very streamlined in terms of design as they are slim and compact. As you can see from the sample picture above, Hoover Onepwr and Shark Rocket have no bag to be called an upright model and they do have plastic canister to hold the dust or dirt in which the capacity is not as much but should be adequate for routine cleaning with up to 10 oz. capacity.
The prominent different beside their overall design itself is probably how to power these stick vacuums as you need to directly plug your Shark Rocket (HV302) to a wall power instead of going cordless like the Onepwr Blade+. However, the cord length is 25 feet long so we do think you can move around the room freely while cleaning. From the picture your Onepwr looks bulkier but this model is actually about 1 lb. pound lighter than Rocket.
Hoover Onepwr and Shark Rocket Mechanism
Hoover Onepwr and Shark Rocket are very much the same just like many other stick vacuums out there. They have a similar cleaning path but in comparison the Hoover is slightly wider at 9.5-inch which is about an inch more than Shark so it can cover more space as you move the cleaning head along. When the vacuum is active, the motor will create suction along with the motorized brush to comb your flooring. We can move them across the room to handle both carpet and hard flooring.
Hoover Onepwr and Shark Rocket Feature
Moving into the feature part, there is no special offering here and they are just like any stick vacuums you often see at stores. We do hope they will have an option to turn the beater brush or motorized brush off so we can use the suction power only but none of these models carry the option unless you want to remove the brush physically from the cleaning head first. They do however, have two settings made for carpet and hard floors.
This setting essentially adjusts the suction power and the rolling brush so when hard floor mode is activated your vacuum will reduce its suction power while also reducing the rotation of their rolling brush to maintain the surface. The on/off button however, is fixed so we don’t need to press a button for a prolonged time during the cleaning process.
Hoover Onepwr and Shark Rocket Performance
The last part we want to talk about is their performance but in terms of cleaning ability, they can do well for routine vacuuming and will be great for those who love to do daily clean up as they are not very powerful for deep cleaning and a thick pile or carpet. The brush does help so much with brushing pet hairs off the carpet and for hard floors we do wish it can be turned off completely but for the result they are still very clean and effective.
We also love how we can clean the canister very quickly and there is no need to put your hand inside the canister while emptying them as the mechanism allows it to be emptied from the bottom. In addition, since they are plastic, washing and drying the compartment is very easy.
Hoover Onepwr Vs Shark Rocket
These vacuums are amazing at a very affordable price. We do think they can handle daily tasks just as reliably and in comparison, they do work very well to pick up dust, small particles or bits, as well as pet or short human hair but, we also think that Shark Rocket, especially this corded version somehow is better in terms of suction power which makes it faster to clean up an area.
Conclusion
You can go well with just any of them since they are very reliable but in comparison we also favor Shark Rocket more especially this corded version since it can produce slightly stronger suction power and there is need to worry about battery lasting ability here.
