Cleaning method has come a very long way. From the day that we used to clean the house manually with traditional broom, we have come to fully automatic things that can eliminate the hardwork and suffering. In fact, you don’t even need to get out from your couch. Without even lifting a finger, rooms in your house will be clean. Some robot vacuums are even pet-friendly, which means that they can help you to clean the pets’ hair and litter. Before actually jumping into the market, picking one from many, you should have some factors to consider.
Unlike the previous traditional cleaning methods, these robot vacuums are complete autonomous with their intelligence. Some even come with advanced technologies you find today, like sensors, lasers, wireless connection, and many others. With all these present at hand, you barely have to interact with them all.
Usually, you can find the robot vacuums that come with their own charging docks. Prepare a small space for this part, and the robot will always come back to their dock if the battery runs out. Or, even when the bin is completely filled, some robots may have the ability to self-empty themselves. They usually will go to their base to do this, and all is done automatically. Cleaning schedules can be set up to one’s liking. You can adjust your machinery to start in the morning right away.
As you might know, most vacuums today don’t have the bags to hold the dust and debris. Instead, they’re using the dustbin that can be easily removed and cleaned. Once it’s full, the robot vacuums will give you a notification. Simply remove the dustbin and remove the content.
Now has come the choosing time. We have two robot vacuums to consider here, the iLife V3S Pro and the famous iRobot Roomba 614.
iLife V3S Pro
If you’re a user that demands both the power and performance, iLife V3S Pro is the most suitable device for you. It has the powerful suction power you wanted, easy-adjust scheduling system, and the ability to clean all surfaces including carpets and rugs without tearing apart the textures and colors. This all-in-one robot vacuum is indeed a helpful companion of the busiest people.

With its powerful power, this machine can suck up almost everything from the dirt, dust, smaller debris, pet litter, and hair for both pets and humans. Switching from the roller, now it uses the two spinning brushes that can sweep the debris, then vacuum will suck it all up. Like most recent robot vacuums, V3S Pro also has three different cleaning methods, which are Edge Cleaning, Schedule Cleaning, and Spot Cleaning. However, the powerful suction gives a loud noise sometimes, reaching up to the maximum 64 dB.
It’s definitely the champion in cleaning all kinds of hard surfaces. Whether it’s ceramic or wooden floor, V3S Pro will clean everything nicely and thoroughly. Venturing on softer parts like carpets, V3S Pro does not seem to have any trouble. With one charge, you can get 100 minutes of strong performance.
What’s interesting is, even though it holds a great power, the size it has is indeed pretty small. It’s almost unnoticeable in your house. Charging station that comes with it is also small. You can easily and simply put it in the corners near electrical outlets. Read also: ILIFE V5s Pro vs ILIFE V8S.
Overall, iLife V3S Pro is a fun, small robot vacuum to work with. The size wouldn’t be troublesome, but the noises would still be noticeable. It can do a long run cleaning without trouble, and work best against various surfaces. With its programmable scheduling, you can make this machine almost automatically at all times.
iRobot Roomba 614
Moving to the second one, we have the iRobot Roomba 614. Still using the old structure, Roomba 614 has the combination of brush roll to collect dirt and debris, and they will separate the small debris, then later sweep off the big ones.. Bristled brush roll will clean up the hair and smaller debris, preventing them from being stuck on the brush.
Just like iLife V3S Pro, Roomba 614 is capable of cleaning all kinds of surfaces, including carpets. While used on carpets, floor mats, and rugs, this robot will agitate and lose the dirt from low and medium-pile carpets.
Any hard floors can be cleaned by using Roomba 614, even the wooden ones. If you happen to have soft-texture wood floors in your house, or fur maybe, you need to do a little testing, to make sure that the bristles won’t ruin the finish.
If you live with a pet, Roomba 614 can be your great companion since it can clean the house more effectively than most competitors, keeping the allergies away. It works greatly to pick off the pet hair from your floor. Regular maintenance is needed though, because of the bristles. Remove the tangled hair regularly to prevent errors and overheat. Fortunately, iRobot already included a cleaning tool for this purpose.
Another feature you should notice is the AeroVac technology. It’s the main idea behind cleaning and filtration systems in 600 series robots. With further improvements applied, the AeroVac system does its job pretty amazingly.
If the AeroVac is the mind behind cleaning, then iAdapt is the brain behind the movements. There are three different editions of iAdapt and all started with the original 600 series. What these sensors can do is to navigate the robot around your house without causing much collision. There’s the touch sensors that use the infrared, acoustic, and touch sensing technology in order to control the robot’s speed, preventing collision.
Battery is amazingly great on this device. 1800mAh lithium-ion battery is totally not a bad of a choice. It can provide you about an hour and a half of an effective cleaning process. Depends on the surface, the average runtime will be 60 to 90 minutes, while the maximum you can get is around 120 minutes.
iLife V3S Pro vs Roomba
Its popularity really shows its value. Even looking from many websites or market places, iLife V3S Pro can reach even higher places than most robot vacuums available today. Its outstanding performance with a bunch of winning points making this 150 dollar robot vacuum worth the buy.
Compared to the Roomba 614, it performs even quieter, 55dB vs 61 dB. It also has the built-in display, washable filter, and two side brushes for maximizing the cleaning performance. You can also gain access via remote control, giving various commands to it. And the battery life is amazing. With 120 min full-performance, it is pretty powerful to beat.
