It’s time for robot vacuum cleaners to shine. With the rapidly advancing technology, robot vacuums have been used to be home cleaner companions. This time, we want to talk about the two robots from iLIFE.
If you are not pretty familiar with it, iLIFE is basically a Chinese brand that mainly focuses on robot vacuum cleaners manufacture. It’s also widely known as Chuwi in the market, fighting over the top among the other quality brands like Roombas and Botvacs.
Even though there are different companies working on the same thing, iLIFE brings a different idea by introducing vacuuming and mopping technology together in a small, automatic device. The company, which is based in Shenzhen, China, has a wide distribution network, making their products more reachable, not only in the US, but all the big and small countries around the globe including Germany, Russia, and UK.
Their product lies with the name of A Series and V series, with their latest models, A8S and V8S. The company is always known for their cheap prices, without abandoning quality. Today we want to talk about several examples, iLIFE V3S Pro and V50. In order for it to be fair, we use the V50S Pro.

iLIFE V3S Pro
One of the oldest models in iLIFE family robotic vacuums is the V3S Pro. Since it has been firstly introduced, the company has come a long way. With its growing phases, the company surely comes up with newer and advanced models. But this one is not forgettable.

Its old mechanic really shows its age. It doesn’t have what you may expect from a modern robot vacuum cleaner, like the Wi-Fi connection for example. Control features via manual or automatic command by using Google Home or Amazon are also missing, so it’s possible for this machine to go wherever it likes. The control is only limited to remote control, which is a bit awkward for today’s standard.
While missing the important features, you can use the schedule cleaning runs option. But it always comes down to preference whether you want this feature or not. Using it means that it can operate automatically even if you’re not at home to “supervise” it. Leaving it “ON” on the house while you’re gone is a bit dangerous actually. The advantages can be found within the V3S Pro that’s highly related to its structure. The vacuum has a low height plus the side brushes that can be depended on for cleaning the space under your furniture. This machine can also effectively clean the corners and edges of your room with ease. A feature called Spot-Cleaning presents with the ability of concentrated cleaning on the dirtiest areas.
V3S Pro is also pet-friendly as well. It comes with a HEPA filter that ensures to pick out the allergen particles and smaller debris and store them all in the dust bin. It works wonderfully to clean kitty litter and crumbs under the table.
But, if you’re living with carpets, V3S Pro could work at its best. It does not have enough power to suck on the carpet surface. It’s not a fun thing to watch, when your robot vacuum cleaner is stuck on the carpet. That’s why, V3S Pro is more recommended for floor type only.
iLIFE V50S Pro
iLIFE V50S Pro and V3S Pro are kind of similar in a way. The newer V5S Pro still has the compactness while also bringing more features with it. With its lower height, it can easily slip under furniture, even your bed. It works fast, and really dependable. When you get it charged up, it can go around the house for approximately 2 hours non stop. It has the anti-collision feature, preventing it from crashing around the house and running into your furniture.
The brushless motor in V5S Pro is more powerful than the one in V3S. It has more suction power, yet it still works in the same way. It’s hard to tell whether V5S Pro cleans the whole are cleaner than V3S Pro or not, the difference is not even noticeable. With the same cleaning capability, V5S Pro is also pet-friendly. It is able to cleans any pet mess including hair, dirt, or crumbs on any hard floor. Cleaning litter boxes is easier than before.
Unfortunately, just like V3S Pro, this machine does not have the wireless connection feature, and can’t be controlled hands free. You only get two options, which is by pressing ON/OFF button, or by using a remote control, utilizing it manually. But since all these features are gone, its price is also declining significantly, making it a worthy option to consider.
New thing you can find on this machine besides the motor is the mopping feature. Unlike V3S Pro, this machine can mop and vacuum the floor simultaneously. You can find the 300 mL water tank that allows not only to clean, but also mop and dry as well. All you need to do is to fill the tank, and start the mopping feature. The water still starts to drop pretty slowly as the machine goes. Once it goes off, the water will also stop dropping.
Even with all these improvements, V5S Pro is still unable to clean carpet surfaces. If you force it somehow, it’s gonna get stuck pretty badly. The mopping feature, however, works wonderfully in the kitchen and hallway. But sometimes, the machine can still get stuck on the way to the dining room. Some people found this mopping feature is not consistent because they saw the floor was not evenly wet.
iLIFE V3S Pro vs V50
Conclusion
We can say that both V3S Pro and V5S Pro are indeed very competitive in price. They are great options for the ones that are limited in budget. Both these robot vacuum cleaners can clean hard surfaces thoroughly, even though some features might not work properly as expected. The loss of Wi-Fi connection and hands free controls make the both seem to be pretty old options compared to the recent models. While V5S Pro has the new mopping feature, it lacks consistency. This making V3S Pro seems to be a better option, since even the newer V5S Pro has similar specifications.
