However, the UV700 does have a function to reduce the suction if you feel like it is too strong and is difficult to push above carpet. It is manually adjusted however through a collar-like switch below the handle.

For convenience, both Shark AZ1002 and UV700 are also in a lift-away line which means you can detach the main canister of the vacuum to use them in a hand carry mode. This way we can use the extension hose and other accessories to perform above floor cleaning and with the suitable accessories, we can also reach the difficult part such as below furniture and behind the TV for example. The canister is quite heavy but we can still hold it with one hand while the other is holding the hose.
Shark AZ1002 vs UV700
Both Shark AZ1002 and UV700 are good vacuums and they are also similar with some differences. From the suction power the AZ1002 is more powerful but also louder and this vacuum also has a wider cleaning path in comparison. Since it also has a high carpet setting, we do think cleaning thick carpet with AZ1002 is more effective while for the hard flooring the two are about the same including when they are getting tangled with pet hair.
