How can we further improve an already good robot vacuum? Some people may have their own preferences or wants that should be fitting for their lives. One may ask for a more intuitive display, smaller size, long-running battery, and so on. These improvements are definitely life-changing for those who know the value.
Most robots vacuum today come with a small size, in order to reach every part of the house easily. It can go smoothly under your furniture. With auto-detection, it won’t get stuck on stuff, making the cleaning process faster. As the small size is used, dust bin capacity also greatly decreased. That’s why, a feature called self-emptying is a life saver. It can both save the life of the machine, and your wallet. No further involvement is needed since the machine knows to handle itself.
Many companies brought new and different ideas to the market, introducing even better technology to handle. Shark has recently launched its golden boy, the Shark IQ, which is known for its self-emptying base. It has an interesting price as wall, half the price of Roomba.
But how is it gonna be, when the new, lovable Shark IQ compared to the Shark Ion Robot R75? Which one can do better?

Shark IQ Robot R100
With 3.5 inches tool and a foot wide, Shark IQ is considered a medium-sized machine. It’s an inch taller than Eufy RoboVac 11S Max, but still lower than its expensive competitors. Now you can have the self-emptying feature, which is a life saver. However, this also comes with a minus. Once you applied the self-emptying base, the machine is no longer able to crouch under your couch, since it will stand around 16 inches tall.

Charging time would take all day long. From 30 to 100 percent, it takes about 5 long hours. We’re talking about robot vacuum here, so the quick charge technology still can’t be found within. However, for cleaning about 480 square feet area, it takes out 40 minutes and 50% of battery capacity.
Carrying the same mechanical idea as the other robot vacuums, Shark IQ also uses one optical sensor that works best during the day. It’s even unusable during the night, since an optical sensor always requires light for navigation. Without it, it would be like a mindless product, bumping around, knocking on everything. Four cliff sensors and four bump sensors are used, these are the sensors that always collide with couch, trash can, and other stuff you put on the floor.
Two rotating side brushes, carpet brush, and a bumper can be found underneath. On top, there are two buttons for Dock and Clean. Well, during some errors, the user needs to press the button multiple times in order to get rid of error messages that are sent into their app.
You can use your personal digital assistant with it. Shark IQ Robot vacuum is fully compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa, and the app for using it is simply attractive. You can name your vacuum with anything you have in mind. From this app, you can adjust almost everything including the cleaning mode adjustment, add multiple units for multiple floors, see cleaning history and previous notifications, and create your own cleaning schedule that’s specific with cleaning map and rooms to differentiate.
Unfortunately, this machine does not have the dust bin sensor, which means when it’s full, it will do a different behavior. Instead of doing self-emptying, it will go to the base. This all made possible with the algorithms that are always measuring the capacity.
Shark Ion Robot R75
Shark Ion Robot came to the market with appealing design and functionality. Design is quite “expensive”, simple, and modern-looking combination of colors. Meanwhile, it also has two side brushes and big brush in the middle. With this structure, it’s possible to clean dirt and debris in tight corners and edges.
The brushes that have the helix patterns dn high tensile bristles offer cleaner result and further improving cleaning efficiency. These three work together in harmony to clean most floor surfaces they can bare. During the cleaning process, the collision avoidance system will work automatically.
Being a primary all-floor cleaner, it can also clean the carpets and rugs, even though not as effective. Plus, it has the easy-to-empty tray type dustbin that also has a fairly big capacity for daily cleaning schedule.
Instead of two, Shark Ion Robot has three different buttons. The first one is Clean button, which you can use to set cleaning mode. Using it means that the machine will run with a random script of cleaning pattern.
Spot button is used for maintaining the spiral motion for effectively cleaning the area. The last button, Dock, is for giving a command to the robot to go back to its base for recharging.
All robot vacuums work with a sensor to prevent it colliding with other stuff around the house. Shark Ion Robot R75 has the more-advanced proximity sensor that can automatically detect any obstacles around your home. It can clean the area thoroughly without hitting anything too hard.
Plus, you also have the Wi-fi connection available, so you can easily connect it with your phone, whether it’s Android or iOS. You can easily operate the machine with the app via your phone. It’s a really convincing cleaning method for today’s standard.
Aside from those, Shark Ion Robot R75 also works in a quiet decibel. Usually robot vacuums tend to be noisy overtime, but it’s not the case with this robot. Even while using it all day long, you won’t have any trouble regarding its noise. Read also: iLife V3S Pro vs Roomba.

Conclusion
With a price lower than the R100, we were quite impressed with how Shark Ion Robot R75 performed. Even though it lacks a feature, its technology in cleaning is actually better. It’s missing only a slight amount, but can give more. For example, it doesn’t have the dirt sensor that exists in R100, but it gets a bunch up nice cleaning features such as Variable Suction, Voice Control, and Multiple Floor-Plan Storage.
Meanwhile, if you’re hoping for the features on the Shark IQ Robot R100, you won’t be disappointed. It has many wonderful, practical features that can make yourself happier. It’s also completed with a HEPA filter as well for your health’s sake. Even with a hundred dollars higher, this machine is still worth every penny.
